Music in the Hall

The Music Hall MMF 5.3SE (Walnut)
w/ Ortofon 2M Bronze cartridge

Frequent requests for <$3k table/arm/cartridge combinations led me to dredge up show memories of combos that have impressed me over time, which, combined with a ton of research, led me to Roy Hall at Music Hall.

Fast forward to today and I’m listening to the MMF 5.3SE (walnut) with a pre-mounted Ortofon 2M Bronze cartridge feeding the Leben HiFi RS-30EQ phono stage.

Color me impressed! Does the table/arm/cart combo represent good value for money? Heck yes! More importantly, does it draw the listener into the music, getting all the essential aspects of vinyl reproduction right. Yes, yes it does.

I’m extremely pleased to be extremely well-equipped to offer newcomers to vinyl and those who know they love LPs but have competing financial priorities a beautiful way to explore that realm.

After 15 years doing audio shows and marketing for Audio Note, UK, I took a year off, intending to establish a recording studio dedicated to making natural, minimally processed recordings of acoustic instruments playing jazz, folk, blues, bluegrass and classical music. Somewhere along the way I borrowed a pair of Auditorium 755 speakers and a Shindo pre-amp and power amp from Jonathan Halpern of Tone Imports. Quick as you can say, "Bob's your uncle!", I had become an audio retailer, using Old Forge Studio as a dual purpose space. It's all very exciting and more than a bit crazy . . .
