Sonner Audio Arrives

Old Forge Audio is extremely happy to announce that we have recently been named a Sonner Audio dealer. Our first arrival is the Legato Unum, a two-way stand-mount speaker which has recently received an excellent TAS review.

Parttimeaudiophile’s 2021 Buyer’s Guide, published just this morning, had this to say about it:

Sonner Audio Legato Unum ($4,750 pr USD w/optional matching stands +$1,120 USD)

“Here is where things get serious . . . They grab your mind, your attention, your heart; something several speakers in this price range and well above—even the most detail laden ones—often can’t and won’t do. The Sonner Audio Legato Unum speakers breathe honesty and life into the music. They are not on your shortlist, they are your shortlist.”

So far, I’ve enjoyed excellent results partnering them with the Sugden A21SE, the Jadis Orchestra Black and the Vinnie Rossi L2i SE integrated amplifiers. That’s quite a wide range, indicating that the Legato Unum will be suitable and satisfying with many, many amplifiers.

After 15 years doing audio shows and marketing for Audio Note, UK, I took a year off, intending to establish a recording studio dedicated to making natural, minimally processed recordings of acoustic instruments playing jazz, folk, blues, bluegrass and classical music. Somewhere along the way I borrowed a pair of Auditorium 755 speakers and a Shindo pre-amp and power amp from Jonathan Halpern of Tone Imports. Quick as you can say, "Bob's your uncle!", I had become an audio retailer, using Old Forge Studio as a dual purpose space. It's all very exciting and more than a bit crazy . . .
