Twittering Machines Product of the Year ‘20

Michael Lavorgna, major domo of Twittering Machines, has named the Devore Fidelity Orangutan 93 2020’s Product of the Year.

Michael, Herb Reichert and Art Dudley all reviewed the O/93, loved them and keep (or, in Art’s case, kept) a pair on hand for the long haul. They are the most popular speaker here at Old Forge. Why do you suppose that is? I suspect I know.

They are fantastic all-rounders, bringing deep musical satisfaction over a wider range of music, partnered with a wider range of amplification and listened to in a wider variety of rooms than any speaker I’ve encountered in over 40 years.

After 15 years doing audio shows and marketing for Audio Note, UK, I took a year off, intending to establish a recording studio dedicated to making natural, minimally processed recordings of acoustic instruments playing jazz, folk, blues, bluegrass and classical music. Somewhere along the way I borrowed a pair of Auditorium 755 speakers and a Shindo pre-amp and power amp from Jonathan Halpern of Tone Imports. Quick as you can say, "Bob's your uncle!", I had become an audio retailer, using Old Forge Studio as a dual purpose space. It's all very exciting and more than a bit crazy . . .
